New HOA (Home Owners Association) in Town!

It appears that Shadyside now has a Home Owners Association (HOA) and it’s Karen is named Mike. Mayor Meintel was active on Facebook again this week and was checking on the villagers to see if they comply with expectations. He had pictures and made comments about a small pile of trash in the trailer park at the 48th Street loop. The indication was that he did not have permission to remove this trash. It says the owner will get a ‘letter’ from him and be cited. Therefore, this indicates that the owner was unaware. There is a picture attached with the trash both at the trailer and in a pickup. Therefore, it appears that our new mayor is acting like a kleptomaniac and goes on people's property without permission stealing items, including trash.
 
 

The trash occupied less than half of a pickup’s short bed and looked to be 2-3 trash bags, one garbage can and some broken furniture. Very little in relation to renters moving. What is the big hoopla? And, did the owner know Meintel was creating this publicity stunt? Hell, many homes around town have more than this stacked in their yards. It all boils down to a publicity stunt by Meintel in preparation to instituting draconian ordinances.

Meintel’s post on the issue was one of denigration and had airs of intimidation. His hostile demeanor begins with ‘I want to make it perfectly clear…the days of neglecting your property are over.’ There is his ‘the good old boy way of doing things is over’ - not demeaning at all, is it? His ‘Shadyside Government’ comments are a throw back to the days of German Naziism. Makes you wonder when Mike’s book ‘My Struggle’ is coming out? This entire post is one of his ‘my way or the highway’ rants. It appears that he has never heard the ideology that ‘you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.’

The next paragraph he wants you to ‘evaluate’ your property and ‘bring it up to standards.’ A big question will be what ‘standards’ he is looking at. Ordinances are being prepared as he talked that would supposedly ‘enhance’ current ones. Bob Dorris Jr. posted a video a few days later that touched on issues. Also, people were suggesting items of concern. They ranged from pets, vehicles and home appearances. So, don’t be surprised when you can’t park in your own driveway, be allowed to feed stray animals or paint/decorate your home certain ways. Are we going the way of conformity as in the movie ‘Pleasantville’?

The last of his post had a ‘Narc’ phone line to ‘report a property’ for all the Prozac Princesses out there. The ‘Gang of Three’ are going all out by using social media to sway the people of Shadyside. This behavior was used by council and mayor in the 60’s and 70’s. That was a time they tried to block the loop. Didn’t go well for them at that time.
